little quilt monday~~~liberty of london swap mini quilt

I made a mini quilt for the Liberty of London Swap 2.
I started with hexagons and then sewed them together
into a heart.  My swap partner likes hearts, so that helped
me decide what to do with the hexagons.

I used Essex linen/cotton blend in gray for the background and
it really set off the bright colors of the hexagons.

I machine quilted on the diagonal in straight stitches and
I chose a bright LOL fabric for the binding.

My swap partner received my package this week and is pleased with her mini quilt!

I sent a few other small quilted items that I will post about later in the week.

liberty circle mini quilt #2

I made a Liberty of London mini quilt for my recent LOL swap.
This was a pattern that I had already made, but this time I think
I had a better grasp of circle making : )

You will find my first liberty circle quilt here and here.
It has always been one of my favorites!
The circular appliqué pattern is found at The Purl Bee here.

This mini finishes at 20"X20" with 20 circle appliqués.
The Liberty of London tana lawn fabric is so beautiful
that it can make a simple mini turn into something gorgeous!

I used osnaburg cotton for the background fabric and crochet thread
for the big stitches.

Darcy, my swap partner was very pleased with her mini quilt and that
makes me very happy.  I also sent along the  hexagon pincushion, coasters, and
a few other goodies to make the swap a little sweeter : )

I should be receiving my LOL swap package soon….I am getting excited!

I am participating in a Liberty of London fabric swap and I am making my
swap partner a circle mini like the one on my header above : )

These are some of the fabrics that I have selected for my swap partner.
I'll show details of my process soon!

liberty of london charms on point

I turned my LOL 2.5 inch squares on point and I added
some osnaburg cotton on the sides.  Now I am big stitching blue circles.
Not sure what this will be when I finish…maybe a zipper pouch
or a journal cover : )

I used the turning charms on point technique that I have done before….
