paper piecing love

It isn't true that I love to paper piece, but I am paper piecing  L O V E.
I have had this free pattern for several years, and I finally decided to give it a try.

I looked through my stash for the Pantone color of the year, Radiant Orchid, and I
found some of my Amy Butler stash that I believe worked well for this project!

I made these letters the full pattern size(8.5"X11").
Next time I may try them at 50% for a smaller mini quilt.

insul bright and hydrogen peroxide

Today I was in the mood for a quick project.  I turned my little vintage creamer stitchery into a hot pad.  I used Insul Bright and discovered that it is very easy to stitch through!   I haven't stitched the vintage sugar yet, so the cup and saucer pattern hasn't been posted.  I don't know if anyone is stitching them with me or not, but I  will copy the cup and saucer on my pattern page next week.

I nearly always prick my finger with the needle at least once while stitching a project : )  I use hydrogen peroxide and a Q-tip to blot out the blood spots and it works quite well.  This tip was found somewhere here in blogland and it has saved me from ruining a project more than once!

I am considering tea dying these little hot pads when they are all finished, and then maybe I won't mind using them.  I'm afraid the white linen will be dirty in no time!

free vintage sugar stitchery pattern

Here is the second pattern from my vintage tea set found here.  I also have my creamer stitched up in variegated red floss and the pattern for it is found here or above by clicking the free pattern tab.  Once again you may want to enlarge the pattern because it is printing smaller than the original!

I haven't decided on the fabric that I will make this little quilt with, but I am going to use something that I already have in my stash : )   Next week I will have the pattern for the cute cup and saucer.

free vintage creamer stitchery pattern

I am going to copy the cute vintage tea set of stitcheries found here and offer them as a free pattern.  I plan to embroidery them in a neutral color on linen and I thought some of you might want to stitch them too.  I will add a different pattern each week for 4 weeks beginning today.  I hope you will join me : )

The pattern is found under the free patterns tab above or here.  When you click on the picture to print, it will be smaller than the original because I haven't figured out how to add a pdf file to my blog.  You may want to enlarge the design when you print the pattern.  Please send me a picture if you decide to follow along!
