finally finished

I am so happy to finally sew the binding on my picnic quilt.  It has been patiently waiting and I added my last stitches this morning.  Then I washed and dried it to give it a lovely, crinkly look : )

There is still some green grass and a few leaves on the trees, but I probably won't be having a picnic for a while.  The temperature is a bit chilly these days.  Oh well, it will be a fun, cheery quilt to look at until Spring!

postage stamp quilt top

I finally finished all the sewing for my postage stamp quilt.  There are 529  2 1/2 inch squares.  I didn't make mine as large as the quilt along quilt because I didn't need a large quilt, but this will make a nice picnic quilt or baby mat/quilt.  I am so happy to have this done and now I am deciding if I am finished or if I need to add a border or two.  I will give it a little time to decide and then figure out how to quilt it : )

picnic quilt

I don't like to make very large quilts.  A square quilt makes a great picnic quilt.  Here is one I made with squares and just added a few borders.   I really like the yellow and blue french fabric!(it isn't from France, just has a french look : )
