blogger's quilt festival~~~color curves

I am entering my mini quilt, Color Curves, this time around.

It all began like this:

While playing with my solid scraps and curve piecing I came up with this:

And from there I decided to stop and make it into a mini quilt called Color Curves.
It measures 18 inches X 20 inches.

I used my favorite big stitches and variegated thread to quilt this colorful mini quilt.

A friend of mine in the OKCMQG is taking some of our guilds small quilts to
Budapest for a show in November.  I am sending this mini quilt for a door prize!

budapest quilt show

A friend in my guild, is going to have a Modern Quilt Show in
Budapest in November.  Agnes has family there, and visits often.
She is taking small quilts that will travel easily : )

I am sending a table runner that I made several years ago.

I am also making a mini quilt for a door prize during the quilt show.
This is how it started out.

I am doing some big stitching with variegated thread.

Hope to finish this week-end!

sewing curves

I took a class on sewing curves at the SewOK retreat a couple weeks ago.  The teacher was
Dana Bolyard from Old Red Barn Co. blog.  She has written a wonderful book
called Imagine Quilts from That Patchwork Place.

Here is the block that I made in her class using some black Essex linen and
Amy Butler's Hapi fabric.

I decided to add more borders of Hapi….why not?

I finished with an off-center block and now I am ready to start quilting!
It measures 45 X 45 inches….just the size for me to machine quilt comfortably : )

I am still deciding on how the quilting will look….
do you have any suggestions?

quick curves ruler color play

I purchased a Quick Curves ruler and could't wait to try it out, so I pulled
some solids and had some fun!

I think I like it!  I will probably machine quilt with straight lines, but
I am trying to decide if I want to use variegated thread or not : )
