selvage or selvedge mini

My work-in-progress for Faith's Mini Quilt Monday is a selvage spool mini quilt.  I have been collecting selvages for a while and plan to make a large spool quilt.  This was my first attempt and as you can see there are two different spools.  I am one of those people that likes to make my own patterns and I discovered that I may need to go to a tutorial when I start on the larger quilt : )

This mini was made using a Moda scrap bag of fabric called Breakfast at Tiffany's by Joanna Figueroa from Fig Tree & Co.

I plan to make different sized spools when I get to the larger quilt too, but it will be a mixture of selvages from all the different fabric lines and colors.

Which way do you spell this fabric edge..... selvage(US) or selvedge(British)?

I have finished last weeks Hexagon mini quilt and I will post a picture on tomorrow's blog.

socks and selvages

I had an excellent mail day today.  I received my sock quilt blocks from my swap with Mary Lou Weidman's yahoo group and a box full of selvages from Tiffany at Pinks Sweet Treats blog.   I haven't decided what I will do with the sock blocks, but they are so darling.   I plan to make a spool block quilt with the selvages.  I have seen several cool spool quilts on the internet and decided that I would give it a try.  Tiffany is in my Block Swap Adventure group and was kind enough to share her selvages with me.

 OH..there were some birthday cards too, because tomorrow is my birthday : )

fun mail~~selvage pincushion

Today was a fun mail day.  I ordered a selvage pincushion from Cindy at Live a Colorful Life's etsy shop,  Sewing on the Edge.   It is a pincushion for a flower child : )   I enjoy her blog and when I looked at her etsy store, and saw the Peace pincushion, I knew it was the one for me!

Gotta go do some cleaning so I can do some sewing later.
