in the garden

Not much has been going on in my sewing room, but I thought I'd show
you where I have been….in the garden : )

Ready to plant!

I planted two lilac bushes.

Geraniums for the front pots.

There is still some space for annuals to plant….soon!

Hope you are enjoying your neck of the woods.

big stitch time

I am adding some big stitches to another quilt : )

I finished the machine quilting, leaving a blank row for some big stitches
and I like the way it looks!

I hope to finish soon, but I haven't decided on "scrappy" or "solid" binding.
What would you do?

scrappy trip along finished

I finally finished my scrappy trip along quilt!
It is so colorful that it makes me happy to look at it : )

I quilted with big stitches using variegated crochet thread.

scrappy quilt along

The binding is scrappy too.

It is a lap-size quilt, the perfect size for sitting on the porch.

quick curves ruler color play

I purchased a Quick Curves ruler and could't wait to try it out, so I pulled
some solids and had some fun!

solid fabric

I think I like it!  I will probably machine quilt with straight lines, but
I am trying to decide if I want to use variegated thread or not : )

Today is cold and dreary....a good day for stitching my neglected scrappy trip along quilt.

Now if I could just keep my cat off of my lap! : )

zig zag baby quilt

I made a baby quilt for a sweet little baby girl.  I hosted a shower for her
mom this week-end, and the little one should be arriving in April.

I used her nursery colors as a guide, but this is not part of the nursery decor.
I don't ever like to give a quilt with the expectation that I am trying to decorate
their home.  I just want the quilts to be enjoyed and used : )

I machined quilted along the zig zags.  Adding some big stitches in fuchsia
The quilt measures 33" X 50".

I used Kona snow and various browns from my stash.  The pop of color backing fabric is
from Amy Butler's Love called Sunspots for Rowan.

The little one doesn't have a name yet(or maybe they just haven't told
anyone yet), but I can't wait to meet her!
