sew and tell friday~~~hexagons~~~oops~~changing to show off friday

Sew and Tell Friday
Show Off Friday

I changed the name of my link up party when I realized it was already being used by another wonderful blogger.  Oops..
What do you do when the air conditioner in your sewing room is not working?  Oh my, we are already having hot weather in Oklahoma, and it is too hot to be in my upstairs sewing room.  I have a ceiling fan, but when I turn it on the fabric flies away : )

I decided to get out my cigar boxes of hexagon supplies and make some coasters like the ones below.

I just put two hexagon flowers together with some batting in the middle and sew around the edge.

I grabbed some solids to make a few solid flowers to use in my upstairs family room where I have my Rainbow Trail table runner that I have shown you here.

We won't have cool air upstairs for a while, (because we are getting a second opinion on the first quote), so I imagine I will be bringing the sewing machine to my kitchen table this week-end!

Now it is your turn to link up something~~~~ what do you have to show for

Sew and Tell Friday
Show Off Friday

I just put my first hexagon together and had fun with it. This is a great project for using some of my favorite scraps.

I know what you mean about the hot weather! Not sure exactly where you are, but when I came out of work yesterday (in OKC) it was HOT! I got home and the house was ok, but the studio was way warm and muggy and ick. Not a good sign for the rest of the year. I love your idea to turn hexagons into coasters. I have a bunch of random hexagons I stitched a while ago, making them into coasters is a great idea. Have a good weekend, supposed to be hot again tomorrow from what I hear.

Your hexies are alot spunkier than mine...very cheerful! I know what you mean about heat..we're in Texas and I'm dreading the summer. Stay cool!

Great hexies! I just made my first hexie flower this week and had no plan for them. I love your coaster idea! I live in South Florida so our AC is on about 350 days/year. I couldn't function without it!

Love the coasters. I'm going to have to find some of my extra hexies. Beautiful

Your hexies are very pretty. I love the contrast in the fabrics that you have used.

It's the worst when it's hot and nothing can be done about it!
