alzheimer's art quilt initiative

I am going to start donating mini quilts to the Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative.   The AAQI is very dear to my heart because I have a family member that is dealing with this disease right now.   The donated quilts need to be no larger than 9 X 12 inches, so I am going to start making some of my
 minis to fit that requirement.

Two minis that already fit that size are my Wonky Hexagon and Faux Piped Binding mini quilt.
These will be my first donated quilts.

I would love to know if any of you donate to the AAQI
and/or if you would like to join me by either making a quilt
or purchasing one!

Yes, I donate to the AAIQ. I have donated 9 so far this year and have got my quilting guild involved in the project. Everyone I have come in contact with at the AAQI has been very nice and helpful. My mother-in-law suffered with Alzheimers for about 15 years before she passed. I do this in memory of her and for all those touched by the disease. I am so glad you are participating.

Thank you for sharing this! My grandpa has Alzheimers and I'd love to make some to donate. I'll look into it soon.

We make and donate through our guild. It is such a great cause.

Our guild makes mini quilts for various causes. Each member is asked to make 1/2 a year. I will look into seeing if they donate to AAQI or see if they would like to.

This is awesome, I've never heard of it before but now I really want to get involved as Alzheimer's has effected my family as well and has become an important cause for me. Beautiful minis you're donating!

A lovely blog and a great post about a cause near and dear to my heart. Do check out the online auction that runs through the 10th and our 'for sale' page. Wonderful ideas for gifts or fabric gift cards!
