little quilt monday~~~jungle stripes mini quilt

Little Quilt Monday

This mini quilt, Jungle Stripes,  is one that I made several years ago using some of Jane Sassaman's beautiful fabric.  It is a simple, original design, but I think it is striking because I used Jane's bright prints along with a few dots and solids.

I sewed strips of various fabrics in various widths together : )  Then I cut them in squares, and then I cut them into triangles and sewed them back together into squares.  I do believe it is a good thing that my job is not to write sewing instructions for quilt blocks, lol.

The measurements of this mini quilt are 18 X 24 inches.  I have linked up to Sew Modern Monday.

I machine quilted in the ditch.  I really like the thin orange strip of sashing and I need to remember to do this again on another mini....I like the look of the thin bit of color.

Now it is your turn to link up a small project(mini quilt, placemat, table runner, whatever small project that you are working on or have finished).  No rules other than adding my link to your post and visiting the other blogs, so we can inspire each other!

piece,
elizabeth

I love the Little Quilt Monday idea! I'm still trying to figure out the whole link-y thing; if you have any advice for me on a better way to link back from my blog post to yours, jot me an email.

I linked a LARGE quilt - Not a Mini Quilt - but I think the idea could be used by a person who creates mini quilts -- Think outside the BLOCK! This can happen to everyone ---- Enjoy your day!
