finished union jack mini

I finished my Union Jack mini quilt while I was in Colorado.
It is going to be a fun little reminder of the Queen's Diamond
Jubilee and the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

I used red crochet thread for my hand stitching.
(Click on the pictures for a closer look.)

The quilt measurements are 22 X 26 inches.  I plan to make another one
and when I do I will give a little tutorial of my process, because I know
I am not the only one that didn't want a paper pieced union jack!

I am loving this one : )

Your Union Jack looks so beautiful quilted. I want to make one, searched the internet and didn't see what I liked. I hope you do a tutorial, every quilter needs to make one this year.

Stunning! What fabrics did you use?! I love them! My husband bought me a Union Jack pillow when on a work trip to London last year, and I've since seen them around the blogosphere, so now I'm determined to make my own version!

Wow! I love it. Your hand stitches are so pretty and even and I always love how they make your quilts look. Cool, too that it is the Queen's Jubilee and the Olympics in London. Lots going on over there; I'd never put the two together. Anyway, great finish! Thanks for linking up!

I love your Union Flag quilt too Elizabeth, makes me quite homesick. Impressed that you hung/lay it the right way up in the tree and photos - there's a lot of Brits who don't know there's a right and wrong way. I'm looking forward to you doing that tutorial, might have to make one myself - your florals really make it :)
