swap block received

I received my June swap block from Linda in Georgia and it is soooo pretty!  The colors look like summer and it goes great with all the other blocks that I have received : )

postage stamp quilt top

I finally finished all the sewing for my postage stamp quilt.  There are 529  2 1/2 inch squares.  I didn't make mine as large as the quilt along quilt because I didn't need a large quilt, but this will make a nice picnic quilt or baby mat/quilt.  I am so happy to have this done and now I am deciding if I am finished or if I need to add a border or two.  I will give it a little time to decide and then figure out how to quilt it : )

swap blocks

I heard from Linda today, and she received the block I made for her and she liked it : )  She ask for
a block with rose fabric and I had was so happy that I had some in my collection!
I like the way this block turned out, so I may have to make a quilt using this pattern with the other rose fabric in my stash.

another sneak peek

I made my June swap partner's block early, I am tired of running behind.  And her fabric and block requests were easy for me because I had fabric in my stash that would work, and I had also made this quilt block before.  I will show the entire block after I know she has received it.

It is a good feeling to have this already made and I will take it to the post office tomorrow : )

peek a boo

I have a sneak peek for my swap partner in May at Block Swap Adventure.  I have not accomplished much in my sewing room this month, but, yippee, this is now done.  I will show the entire block later this week
: )

Happy Memorial Day to all, and especially..... thank you, thank you to all who are in service to keep our country safe, and I also want to honor those who have lost their life for my freedom!

two sided mug rug

I made this mug rug for my son's new office, and one of the guys he works with(that I have known since he was a young boy) ask my son if I would make him one.  He wanted to have two of his favorite teams on his mug rug....Thunder(NBA basketball) and OU(University of Oklahoma).  I made this one for him and he can turn it over depending on which team he wants to cheer on that day : )

I didn't put a binding on it and it is pretty simple.  I let the fabric do all the work, and I am flattered that he will display this on his office desk!  Two young lawyers that have some fun memories between them.  I smile thinking about their younger days....their senior year in high school my son was class president and his friend was student counsel president....oh the skits they would put on during the school assemblies.  The firm they work for is very blessed to have them!

swap block

I finally finished my swap block for the Block Swap Adventure swap in April.  The last two weeks have been pretty hectic around here.   I didn't think I was ever going to get a chance to spend some time in my sewing room.  We have been doing major remodeling on the outside of our home since the middle of November and it is almost finished!  We spent one week in Colorado to get away from the mess : )  Anyway, I am now able to spend more time sewing and that also means I have something to blog about.

I made this block for Sylvia from Australia.  She requested a pastel block of my choice.  She will be making a baby quilt with her swap blocks.  I made this 12 inch disappearing four patch block and although it is going to be late, I am hoping she will like it!
