little quilt monday~~~number 44

Little Quilt Monday

Believe it or not, this is LQM number 44!  I really enjoy this linky party and I hope you do too : )

This week I have been working on getting my house ready to show.  I have been
in my sewing room, but it has been to straighten and organize and clean,
rather than sew.

It will probably be that way for a few more weeks, but I thought I would go ahead and
have the linky party for all of you to show your projects.
I am always inspired by all the projects you have made : )

Now it is your turn to link up something to

Little Quilt Monday

little quilt monday~~~unfinished business

Little Quilt Monday

I have two unfinished projects to show you today : )
I hand stitched this little mini and now I need to decide what color
binding to use.  I am thinking scrappy, but that may be too busy.

My other project is a journal cover.  I received a journal cover from
Rachel at Stitched in Color when I completed her Curves Class.
I have been wanting to make one ever since!

I need to add more fabric on the top and bottom.
Here is what it will look like when it is finished.

I have the feeling that these journal covers are going to be my new
favorite project...kind of addicting, and a great way to use up
left over quilt blocks and scraps.

inspiration picture

Here is a picture of the stained glass window that is at the top of the stairs of the house
that we will be moving into in October.

I have the feeling that this will be an inspiration to me for a
future mini quilt, and maybe even a larger quilt!

Do pictures inspire any of your quilt creations?

little quilt monday~~~quiet week

 Little Quilt Monday

I have nothing to show you today for LQM.  I have been straightening, sorting, and
cleaning up my messy sewing room.

Here is an inspiration picture that I took while in South Africa.
This was hanging over our bed and I would like to make a little quilt
with this design!

I hope you have been more creative than I have been this week : )

show off friday~~~vintage linens

Show Off Friday

I am determined to finish some of my UFO/WIP that I have piling up in my sewing room.
One that I am fond of, but haven't known what to do with, is this vintage linen piece that I
framed with some Amy Butler fabric that is from her Gypsy Caravan line(the original).

I was inspired this week by Heather's quilt shown here on her blog called Crafting.
I love the way she off centered the postage stamp square in her quilt.  I think I will do that
with some of my UFO/WIP pieces.  I like the modern look it gives to a traditional design.

I plan to use Kona white or snow, but I may audition a few solid colors to make certain
that the white is the best choice.

Now it is your turn to link up something~~~~ what do you have for

Show Off Friday

There are no rules for this link up party....this is just the place to show off projects you are working on!

little quilt monday~~~wavy tumbler mini quilt

Little Quilt Monday

I finished my Wavy Tumbler mini quilt.  It was a fun one to piece together.
I am planning to make a larger New Wave Quilt that I mentioned here.

I was able to keep these waves straight with the help of the notches on the
Accuquilt Go!Baby tumbler die.  Now I need to figure out where to notch the pieces

I used a bright gold crochet thread to hand stitch this mini quilt.

The fabric is from my Flea Market Fancy stash by Denyse Schmidt for Free Spirit.
Click the pictures for a closer look : )

The Wavy Tumbler mini quilt measurements are 17 X 14.5 inches.

little quilt monday~~~amish mini finished

Little Quilt Monday

I finally finished big stitching my Amish mini quilt.

I used turquoise crochet thread to make my hand stitching really pop.  A bright blue backing and black binding were the finishing touches for this little beauty.

The measurements are 27 X 27 inches.  The tiny squares making up the center block
finished at 1 inch.

This little quilt is going to hang in my sewing room : )
