wip~~~stitching along

I have a new embroidery project to work on while I am watching television
with my husband in the evenings.  We have been watching NBA basketball.....
our favorite team, the OKC Thunder, are still playing!

I found this fun fabric at my LQS that became the perfect design for some colorful stitching.

I don't have a plan for this project.  It is just a fun way to practice my stitches.

I won't cover every red line with embroidery, but who knows when I will
decide I am finished : )  This is going to be fun!

OH, do you have any tips on making French knots?

piece,
elizabeth

I am linking up to WIP Wednesday and Can I Get A Whoop Whoop.

  3. What a great idea to stitch right onto the lines on the fabric. It's very pretty! No good tips on French knots, unfortunately. I've never been able to get them just right.

  6. What a fun project, when it's done, it will be done! I remember about thirty or more years ago I bought a denim shirt and just embroidered designs all over it. I used it as a beach top, my husband was always a little embarassed when I wore it. Wish I would have kept that shirt.

  8. French knots are one of those skills you just have to practice. My only tip is to wrap the thread tight enough to make them hang nicely around the needle but not so tight that you can't easily pull the thread through the middle of the wrap.
Practice a few and I bet you'll be doing them like a pro in no time at all. Love you stitchery on the red print :0)

  9. What a neat project, a great idea! I have never seen that fabric before. Did you look for something like this or did it just come to you when you saw the fabric? LOVE it!

  10. The French knot! :/ my tip is similar to the one above. In addition, once I have wrapped the needle and inserted it back In the fabric, I always pin down the floss with my finger, taut, about an inch away from the knot while I pull the needle through the fabric. This keeps my knot the size I want it.
